Several thousand Southern gospel music lovers enjoyed Southern gospel music at its best during the 21st Annual Suwannee River Jubilee at the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak over the weekend of June 12-14.
Sponsored by the Dixie Echoes and billed as gospel music’s premier camping and concert experience on the banks of the famous Suwannee River, it was a great gathering with some of the best gospel groups in the US - the Dixie Echoes, Chuck Wagon Gang, Primitive Quartet, Palmetto State, the Greenes, Kingsmen and the Lesters.
If you love gospel music and you missed this great event, don’t fret. The annual fall Suwannee River Jubilee, also sponsored by the Dixie Echoes, will be held Oct. 2-4 at the SOSMP. For more info about the fall event or tickets and reservations, go to the Dixie Echoes’ website at jubilee@dixieechoes.com or to the SOSMP website at musicliveshere.com or call 386-364-1683.

The Lesters of St. Louis, Mo. were among the southern gospel music groups who thrilled thousands of gospel music lovers June 12-14 at the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park during the Suwannee River Jubilee. The Lesters, one of the best-known gospel groups in the business have been performing since 1925. Performing in the amphitheater, the weather was near perfection. Other groups performing over the three days at the Dixie Echoes sponsored event were the Dixie Echoes, Chuck Wagon Gang, Primitive Quartet, Palmetto State, Greenes and the Kingsmen.
