A much anticipated and long-awaited ground breaking ceremony took place on Sunday, April 27, as the members of Faith Community Church of Live Oak looked on as their pastor, John L. Curry and deacons Don Atherton and E.L. Strickland took hold of the “gold” shovel, signaling the start of construction of their church on 164th Street in McAlpin. Faith Community Church looks forward to meeting the residents of McAlpin and becoming a part of the neighborhood. Until the completion of their church building, the congregation will continue to worship at the Garden Club. - Photo: Submitted/ (Click for larger image)
