Suwannee High wins team trophy at NFCC Art Festival

More than 100 artists from area schools showed off their talents at the 31st annual High School Art Festival recently at North Florida Community College in Madison. Ninth through twelfth graders displayed creative works.
Suwannee High School was overall team winner for the fourth consecutive year. The show is the area’s largest art exhibition and competition for young artists. High school students from Suwannee, Hamilton, Madison, Taylor and Jefferson counties participated.
Suwannee High artists Ritina Singh, Connor Billups, Gabrielle Buchanan, Mary Mooney, Austin Leavitt and Dee Sardina were selected as Merit Award winners. Twelve Merit Award winners were chosen for best in show and received individual trophies and small cash prizes.
NFCC art instructor Lisa Barden coordinated the event.
