Live Oak — Live Oak Mayor Sonny Nobles and Clerk John Gill dominated in votes Tuesday night as local residents made their way to the polls to let their voice be heard.
Nobles, incumbent, received 549 votes; Jefferson received 342 votes; Tasha Cockburn garnered 98 of the votes and Andrew Gonzalez mustered 54 votes.
For the city clerk race, Gill defeated challenger Jeanne d'Eauédè 857 votes to Jeanne’s 182 to retain office.
Amendment One to the Live Oak charter passed with 564 votes to 435.
The charter will be amended to establish a council-manager form of government instead of the previous council-administrator plan.
Voter turnout was 30.47 percent; 1,052 of the 3,453 registered city voters participated.
