AT&T plans Suwannee cell expansion

AT&T Mobility is expanding its Florida network, the company announced, with plans to add some 100 new cell phone tower throughout the state in 2009, including one in Suwannee County.
"Our mission is to connect people with their world, everywhere they live and work, and to do it better than anyone else," said Marshall Criser, III, president, AT&T Florida. "The investment we're making in Florida will help us fulfill this vision."
AT&T Mobility has invested nearly $725 million in its Florida network since 2006. As part of its 2009 investment, the company plans to introduce 3G service in Ocala, Panama City, St. Augustine, Palm Coast, Palatka, and Lake City and expand its 3G footprint in Tallahassee, Jacksonville, Gainesville, Daytona Beach, Cape Canaveral and Melbourne.
The company's 2009 network build-out plan includes approximately 30 new sites in South Florida, 25 in West Florida, 20 in Central Florida and 25 in North Florida.
