In Buccaneer boys basketball action last week the team dropped two matches, one to Trenton 55-23 and another 74-45 to Oak Hall.
In both games the Bucs were led by sophomore John Perry and junior Tim Clark. Perry scored 16 points in the Oak Hall game and 11 against Trenton. Clark scored his season high against Oak Hall finishing the night with 19. His total in the Trenton game was 5. Ken Certain finished the night with 6 against Oak Hall and 3 in the Trenton game.
Coach Seth Stebbins continues to stress the fact the boys are young. "They are working hard, " said Stebbins.
The Bucs will be at home with Bronson Friday, Jan. 18. It will be senior night. Both varsity senior girls, boys, as well as cheerleaders will be recognized. According to Coach Stebbins the senior night ceremony will be held prior to the girls game which according to the schedule begins at 6:30 p.m.
After Friday night only five games remain on the Buccaneer schedule with three of them being at home: Dixie County for varsity girls only on Jan. 22; Dixie County for varsity boys only on Jan. 29 and Cedar Key on Feb. 1 for varsity boys. Two away games remain with Lafayette, one on Jan. 25 and Aucilla Christian on Jan. 28, both for the two boys teams, varsity and JV.
