Lady Bucs playing tough

Showing Determination

The Lady Bucs are three quarters the way through their season and have been playing some tough basketball. The season has seen some match ups that have ended in success and some that have ended in heartbreak. Currently the Lady Bucs are 6-11 overall and 3-5 in the district. The beginning of the season got off to a rough start with five straight losses to some really good teams. We found it emotionally tough to find good from such a start, but the ladies marched on, showed determination and continued to work hard to get ready for every game. We finally made a break through when we defeated our district opponent Hawthorne 43-22.

We then turned around and defeated Cedar Key 23-13 in our next game. We went on in later games to defeat Hamilton 57-50 which was our highest scoring game to date. We also defeated local rival Bell 56-48 that same week. During Christmas break we once again defeated Cedar Key and Hawthorne to sweep those two match ups. During Christmas break we had the opportunity to play for the championship in our Christmas tournament but sadly ended up runner up with our loss to Bell. As we enter the final leg of our schedule, we still see opportunity to find some good wins before the season is over. We hope to make at least 10 wins before we enter the playoffs. Finally we hope to make a good showing in the district tournament. We ask that those in the school and community that have been to our games to continue to come and see all the teams play, and to those who have missed out to come before the season is over.
