Boil water notice in effect for Suwannee County

Live Oak — Suwannee County Emergency Management has stated a boil water notice is now in effect for all of Suwannee County. Bring water to a full rolling boil for at least one minute and allow to cool before drinking or using in food preparation, that office said.

Debby has been downgraded to a tropical depression as it moves across Florida in an easterly direction.

Suwannee County Emergency Management requests that people stay at home and off the roads tonight. Numerous roads are either washed out or under water, several feet in some locations.

If you have flooding impacting your home, you can call the Suwannee County Emergency Management Center at 386-364-3405 for assistance.

A shelter remains open at Suwannee County Coliseum on 11th Street in Live Oak.
