Marguerite Kines, the Branford High School senior critically injured in a car crash on March 29, was released from Shands at UF this week to a rehab center where she is undergoing several types of therapy, according to her grandmother, Katie George. Mrs. George said, "Marguerite is very weak, she was in the hospital almost six weeks." She was listed as critical for weeks, and was in a drug-induced coma. According to the grandmother there is a good possibility Marguerite will be able to come home on May 22. "That's what the doctors have told us," said George.
The accident victim is a member of the 2008 senior class at BHS and is hopeful of being able to graduate with her class according to her grandmother.
Although it appears the victim has a ways to go she has made much progress and is on the way to recovering.
Marguerite's mother is Sandra Kines. Her father is Glenn Kines. The family wishes to thank everyone for their prayers and every act of kindness shown them since the accident near McAlpin, when Marguerite almost lost her life.
