Molestation charge leads to arrest

— A Branford man has been arrested in Gilchrist County on the charge of lewd and lascivious molestation of a child under 12 years of age.
According to reports, Arthur L. Mayo, Jr., 66, of 609 NW 96th Place, Branford, was arrested March 12 by the Gilchrist County Sheriff’s Office. The molestation allegedly began when the female victim was five years of age and continued for about six years, say authorities.
Mayo was booked into the Gilchrist County Jail and was later released on a $50,000 bond.
