The Lady Bucs track team finished another undefeated season in the five-star conference competition and received their trophys this past week at the conference meet. Unlike the past years where Branford was the best in dual meets, they proved this year that they are going to be a force in the district race also.
Team scores do not necessarily count in the conference meet as the meet is designed to award individual performances, but team scores was tracked with Branford finishing on top with a narrow margin over Trenton. The signifigance of this is that the district meet will involve pretty much the same teams which bolds well for the Lady Bucs.
Taking conference championships at the conference meet for the Bucs was Jenny Williams in the 110 hurdles, the 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams.
The boys received their district runnerup trophys, finishing second to Trenton. The boys edged out Trenton for the top team spot in the conference meet however which also bolds well for the Bucs as they prepare for the district tournament scheduled in Mayo this Wednesday.
Taking conference championships for the Bucs was Dan Hanley in the 3200 meters, Johnson in the 110 hurdles, Travis Lockwood in the pole vault, and Jason Rose in the discus throw.
