Miss Sara Prevatt, a first grader at Branford Elementary School was crowned Little Miss BHS 2004, during ceremonies held Saturday, Feb. 21. Little Miss Ashley Horn, also a first grader was chosen first runner up; Darian Morgan, second runner up and Maricella Ardella, third runner-up.
The new Little Miss was crowned by the 2003 Little Miss BHS Kara Holtzclaw. She is the daughter of Rob and Melissa Prevatt. Her big brother is Chris Prevatt who is a junior at BHS. Her maternal grandparents are Gerald and Linda Collins of Branford. Paternal grandparents are Lynn Benlolo of Branford and Randal Prevatt of Jacksonville.
Contestants were judged on formal and casual wear. Also, smile, personality, poise, presence and overall impression.
Other contestants included Megan Vaught, Maricella Ardilla, Jazmyne Bates, Kensi Holzclaw, Kimberly Massey, Blair Bullock, Hailey Hall and Lauren Suggs.
The pageant is sponsored each year by the BHS senior class. Matt Bius is president of the 2004 graduating class, and he gave the welcome to family, friends, and guest.
Entertainment during the evening was presented by the entire group of contestants: Wade Page, Krystina Reid, the reigning Miss BHS; Kara Holtzclaw the reigning Little Miss. The pageant theme was "She Is A Big Star." Michelle McCollum was hostess for the event.
Karri Woolard, vice president of the senior class introduced special guest and thanked all who helped make the pageant a huge success. She said, " a special thank you to Katrina Raulerson, class sponsor, Michelle McCollum and LaDon Terry.
