Marion Mizell Walls

Marion Mizell Walls of Sanderson, Florida, passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2006, in the emergency room of Trinity Community Hospital in Jasper, Florida, with her family at her side. She was a longtime resident of Jasper (Hamilton County) prior to locating to Sanderson in 2005. She was a former member of Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church of Jasper; her membership was recently transferred to St. Johns Baptist Church in Sanderson. Mrs. Walls was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie and Johnnie Lee Mizell, and a brother, Ralph Mizell.

Mrs. Walls is survived by her loving and devoted husband, David Walls; one son, David Jr. (Evangeline); four daughters: Shirrel Faye Walls of Jacksonville, Florida; Cynthia Mitchell (Franklin) of Hinesville, Georgia; Debra Watson (John) of Lawrenceville, New Jersey; and Marion Ann Walls of Jacksonville; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; two sisters: Mertis Shepherd of Lake City, Florida, and Catherine Ante (Eddie) of Houston, Texas; two brothers: Mack Mizell (Susie), and Rudolph Mizell (Rona) of Lake City, Florida; and a host of cousins, nephews and nieces.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 18, 2006, at 2 p.m., in St. Johns Baptist Church of Sanderson.

Mizell’s Funeral Home in Lake City is in charge of arrangements.

William Ronald “Ronnie” Holbrook

William Ronald “Ronnie” Holbrook, age 56, of Jennings, Florida, passed away Friday, February 10, 2006, at Shands AGH in Gainesville, Florida. Holbrook was born in Newnan, Georgia, on September 4, 1949, and was a former resident of Atlanta, Georgia. He moved to Hamilton County, Florida, 28 years ago and was a retired employee of Roadway Express, Inc., and veteran of the United States Navy. Holbrook was preceded in death by his father, Otis King Holbrook, and two brothers, Thomas Holbrook and Jimmie Lee Holbrook.

Survivors include two sons: Kevin Holbrook and Lane Holbrook, both of Jennings; one daughter, Erica McCoy of Jasper, Florida; one step-daughter, Michelle Patten of Tampa, Florida; his mother, Mary Singleton of Jasper; one brother, Steve Holbrook of Jasper; two sisters: Deanna Lou Stamps of Statenville, Georgia, and Nancy Lee Cole of Villa Rica, Georgia; a nephew, Donnie Lee Holbrook of Carrollton, Georgia; several other nieces and nephews; and four grandchildren: Kyle, Josh and Chaise McCoy, and Tyler Morgan.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, February 12, 2006, in the chapel of Harry T. Reid Funeral Home with Brother Steven Holbrook officiating, assisted by Brother Wendell Hill. Interment followed in Sassers Landing Cemetery.
