The Branford Lady Bucs volleyball team has gotten off to a great start for the 2005 season with consecutive wins over Bell and Mayo. The ladies have yet to lose a single game to date.

Coach Carla Suggs is quick to point out that the senior leadership of Alisha Aderholt and Amanda McNabb have been outstanding early this season.

Aderholt delivered 15 service points against Bell, with five of those being aces.

McNabb got player of the week honors after gathering 14 assists to the front line which set the stage for a team total of 27. Eleven of those kills was by Shauna Nettles.

The attack continued in the win over Mayo with Aderholt getting 13 more service points with six aces.

Kershta Mitchell did a great job at the net with 10 kills. Aderholt, McNabb, Nettles and Mitchell combined for 16 assists which led to another strong showing at the net with 29 kills.

The ladies are not only 2-0, but both are district wins.

On Tuesday night, the ladies will host Suwannee, and will put their undefeated district mark on the line against a very tough Trenton team on the road.
