The Buccaneer junior varsity boys team opened the week in Bronson, dropping a 49-29 contest, but returned home to hold off a pesky Aucilla team, 36-28.

Against Bronson, the Bucs struggled offensively early, getting only three points from Tim Clark, but regrouped after the first quarter to make a game of it against a very traditionally tough Eagles team.

David Campbell and Cody Dicks would warm up in the second quarter with each dropping in four of their team high six points to assist the Bucs.

Other Bucs reaching the score book was Jonathan Byrd with 4, Clark finishing with 3, while Alex Sarrandos, Bradley Bullock, Patrick VanAsch, Daniel Byrd and Andrew Johnson each scored two points for the Bucs.

The Bucs would bounce back at the home gym holding off Aucilla by a score of 36-28. The Bucs once again started off slowly in the opening period despite getting an early Campbell three pointer, but the Bucs would have to settle for a 3-3 first quarter result. That lead would grow in the second quarter however to 19-6, getting 6 points from Campbell, while Johnson went to work underneath grabbing 3 boards and blocked a shot. The Bucs would see a much hotter shooting team from Aucilla from behind the arc in the second half as their lead would dwindle to seven after three periods, but control of the boards by Johnson and Sarrandos which combined for 7 boards kept Branford in front.

Aucilla was able to pull within five points in the final period with some nice three pointers, but Campbell would finish the deal in the final stages with 3 rebounds, a steal and made three key free throws to help the Bucs pull out their fifth win of the season 36-28.

Campbell would finish with a game high 16 points and 5 rebounds. Helping the Bucs cause also came in the form of 3 steals and a blocked shot.

The leading rebounder for the team was Johnson with 9, with 1 blocked shot while scoring 4 points. Clark played an important role as usual in the Bucs win scoring 6 points and stole the ball once.

Dakota Belville returned to the floor for this game scoring 3 points with 3 rebounds, and blocked a shot. Despite only scoring one point, Sarrandos was aggressive for the Bucs on the boards with 5, and had one steal.

Other Bucs reaching scoring for Branford was Bullock 3, J. Byrd 2, and D. Byrd 1.
