The annual Christmas festival held each year in Branford will be large this year according to Debbie Yates, spokesperson for the Branford Ministerial Association.
Doris and Bill Ware, residents of the town for many years who recently sold their home located on Highway 247 and moved to Gainesville to be near their daughter and family, will return and serve as parade marshals.
According to Yates more than 20 booths will line the streets of Branford in a designated area across from First Baptist Church on main street. 'We will be taking booth entries as late as Friday evening and vendors may set up Friday night or Saturday morning. Events are scheduled to kick off at 10 a.m.
There will be gospel music and Christmas carols on the front porch of First Baptist, and the community is invited to participate.
According to Yates, who usually serves as parade coordinator said there will be more than 25 entries in the annual parade, "Keeping Christ In Christmas." Lineup is 12 noon, with parade time scheduled for 1 p.m. The Buccaneer Marching Band will participate.
Yates told the News the association is pleased with the interest shown in the festival, and the public is cordially invited to come out and take part.
