One of Tony Cameron’s campaign promises while seeking the office of sheriff of Suwannee County was to make a difference with the sale of illegal drugs in the county.

Cameron was elected, and took office on January 4, 2005. Sine that time the war on drugs has been ongoing.

In a press release from the sheriff’s office the first week of the 2006 new year, there were 283 drug cases at the end of 2005 by Sheriff Cameron and his Drug Task Force, and 267 arrests made related to illegal drugs. According to the report there are 30 other suspects to be picked up on drug related cases.

The fight to make a difference in illegal drugs is ongoing according to Cameron and his staff and the Drug Task Force will be diligent to keep his campaign promise in 2006.
