Don Wainwright started on the mound for the Suwannee 13-2 drubbing of the Lake City Tigers. Wainwright pitched for almost four innings, getting in trouble in the fourth with the bases loaded. Nick Reppert came in to relieve Wainwright pitching three and a half innings.

Suwannee jumped to an early lead in the first with a Ross Aretino hit and two runs scored.

Some excellent fielding by Wainwright and Reppert, who was playing third base got a runner out at third , catching him between bases for the out.

By the third inning, the Dogs were up 7-0. Baldwin drew a walk to get things rolling in the third. Taylor Abercrombie got a good hit by the Tiger shortstop for a base hit. Then with two outs and two on base, Matt Yanossy singled driving in Baldwin. Right about then, Columbia trotted out a new pitcher.

Aretino singled off the new meat on the mound to drive in Abercrombie. Wainwright drew a walk and Garrett Brown, who is having a terrific year, singled to drive on Yanossy.

In the bottom of the third, Wainwright sent three straight back to the clubhouse and it was the fourth inning and the Dogs turn at bat again.

Baldwin got a base hit in the top of the fourth to start Suwannee's newest scoring drive off. Nick Reppert singled and Abercrombie got a base hit off the Tiger first baseman's error that scored Baldwin. Abercrombie stole third and Reppert stole home to add another run to the Suwannee tally and make it 9-0 going into the bottom of the fourth.

Lake City scored two runs off Wainwright in the fourth and Reppert took over in relief. Going into the fifth inning it was 9-2 Dogs.

Wainwright walked to start inning number five and Columbia trotted out yet another pitcher. Brown singled off the new mound man sending Wainwright to third. Brown stole second and Billy Moran singled to score Wainwright. Then Brown stole home to make it 11-2.

In the bottom of the sixth, Suwannee saved their bacon with a big double play escaping a bases-loaded situation.

Columbia sent in another pitcher in the seventh inning to make it four hurlers for the Tigers on the night. Moran doubled off the new pitcher down the third baseline followed by a Ryan Stovall double that sent Moran home. Abercrombie singled to send Stovall across home plate and the Dogs ended the game with a final score of 13-2.

Wainwright walked six and struck out five. Reppert gave up one hit, two walks and also struck out five.

Billy Moran had one double and an RBI. Aretino had an RBI. Baldwin, Reppert and Abercrombie had two RBI's. Yanossy had an RBI.

Look for Dog baseball at home on March 30 against North Florida Christian. Game time is 7 p.m.
